DIATIRO - Lyceum of Greek Women of Thessaloniki(Greece)
The "Lyceum of Greek Women of Thessaloniki" has played an active and important role in the preservation, teaching and spreading of Greek cultural traditions in Greece and abroad, as well as the conservation and presentation of traditional costumes for almost a century. Most people are familiar with its traditional dance group that has participated in numerous performances not only in Greece but also in international festivals overseas. But "Lyceum of Greek Women of Thessaloniki" is more than just a traditional dance group. It retains Greek tradition in other ways as well. Its “wardrobe workshop” - now under the new name “DIATIRO” - is one of them. For the creation of the "DIATIRO" logo I took inspiration from the Greek folk tradition and the embroidery/ patterns found on traditional Greek customes, as the workshop’s mission is not only to conserve folk costumes, but also to cherish tradition through the creation of artifacts inspired by it.
